One of my other passions is improvisational theatrical clowning. In layman’s terms, for me, it is about exploring and developing my own potential for creativity. I love working with puppetry, storytelling and playing.
For me, as a therapist, it has resonance with gestalt therapy with regards to the 3 pillars as referenced by Dave Mann (2010), or at least in my understanding. They are phenomenology, field theory and the dialogic relationship. In other words, being in the ‘here and now’, having no ideas and staying with awareness to see what emerges for you in that place and if with another clown seeing how you shape them and how they shape you. And so much more…
I delivered my first workshop “Discover your clown within” for participants at the UKAGP Conference June 2024 – “Play and Stuckness” from a dance movement perspective.
