Experiential Learning

I have a strong interest in facilitating experiential learning. I created and developed my pedagogy in that approach in my application to become a Fellow of Higher Education Association (FHEA).

I was a tutor, clinical supervisor and academic supervisor on the MA in Dance Movement Psychotherapy and the BA Honours in Creative Expressive Therapies at Derby University.

I have recently retired from tutoring therapeutic and psychotherapeutic counsellors at Maple Leaf Counselling Training Centre and before that at Banbury Counselling Academy. I was inspired by the same approach on my training in gestalt therapy. I have since developed the same with trainee counsellors. It was challenging but in my view is the better way for deep embodied learning of therapeutic concepts.

I offer CPD workshops for counsellors/psychotherapists using the same pedagogy.

I remember a student once saying to me that there was too much of me and my achievements rather than what you are offering on your (old) website. But I also remember one of my trainers encouraging me to celebrate all of who I am and my achievements for that is ‘the ground’ (gestalt term) of what you bring to the therapeutic relationship and everything else about you as human person.
