For qualified practitioners and practitioners in training, I offer supervision. I particularly enjoy working with counsellors who use creativity and movement in their practice, or counsellors who wish a creative and/or movement dimension in their supervision if that is what you are looking for.
My approach is broadly humanistic integrative in perspective and blends creativity with social constructionism, experiential person centred and gestalt therapies with other psychotherapeutic approaches, with a developmental somatic edge.
I have an emerging interest in jungian and other psychodynamic approaches.I like to work relationally and creatively with supervisees and would be very interested and curious as to what it is that you would bring to the supervision relationship and how I might support and develop your practice. With that in mind, I draw from the physical/emotional/psychological/spiritual aspects of dance, body movement, the performance art of clowning, various art and media forms – along with the more ‘traditional’ aspects of ‘talking therapies’ supervision. I offer you creative, embodied, relational, experiential, movement based supervision.
I offer supervision for trainee or newly qualified or experienced dance movement psychotherapists also with a blend of social constructionism, person centred and gestalt therapies with a developmental somatic edge. I also also offer supervision to professionals who work in the areas of social work, education or the like, who feel they would benefit from exploring various issues that concern them in a safe, creative and confidential space. I have fond memories of my training in “Person Centred Creative Supervision”, Dance Voice, Bristol. Accredited by ADMP-UK, an Organisational Member of HIPC of UKCP.
My specialism was (and still is) to work with people creatively (if needed, to find a way support them to share/express/communicate their story as appropriate and always in collaboration with them) as well as talking and see them as whole human beings in context of their situation/problem that they bring and their whole life history as appropriate.
If you wish, I can work with you on line via Zoom (preferred), Google Meet, FaceTime or WhatsApp (encrypted).
Supervision takes place in a private, quiet, exclusive use, dedicated Counselling Room with no interruptions or interruptive noise.
I bring together my experience of counselling, psychotherapy, personal and professional development and academic studies in creativity, communication, media and culture, and cultural studies.
